Now through Dec. 7th is your time to see if you can find lower premiums and extra benefits. Take a moment to look at all your health plan choices—including prescription drug plans and Medicare Advantage plans from private insurers.
If you have had the same plan for a while, Medicare Open Enrollment is your chance to see what’s new. You may be able to lower your out-of-pocket costs while getting extra benefits, like vision, hearing, dental, and prescription coverage.
Just as your health needs may change from year to year, so do Medicare plan costs and coverage. Use the annual Medicare Open Enrollment period to compare all of the Part C/Part D offerings, Medicare Advantage and see what’s best for you.
Lower costs, better coverage, or perhaps just learning that your current plan is still best for your situation. Review all of your options during Open Enrollment.
- Switch between Medicare Advantage plans
- Switch from traditional Medicare to a Medicare Advantage plan, or vice versa
- Elect or switch between Medicare Part D prescription drug plans
- Join, drop, or switch to another Medicare Advantage Plan
- Add or drop drug coverage
If you miss your Initial Enrollment Period, you may need to wait to sign up for Medicare and pay a late enrollment penalty. The penalty increases the longer you wait.
