Date Range: Set the dates to any range preceding March 31, 2022 to see data from that time period.
Kidneys Transplanted: Click on the grey box titled “Kidneys Transplanted.” When you first load the dashboard the number of kidneys transplanted shown is national from April 1, 2021 through March 31, 2022 in the box titled “Kidneys Transplanted.” You can change the dates and the number will change. You can hover over a state to see a pop up showing the number for that state. You can click on a state in the map and the number in the box will show the number for that state. Click the state again to reset the top Kidneys Transplanted” box number to national. There is also a gradient color bar below this box which matches the colors on the national map. The states with the darkest color have the highest number of kidneys transplanted.
Active on the waitlist: Click on the grey box titled “People active on the waitlist.” As with the kidneys transplanted, when you first load the dashboard the number of people active on the waiting list shown is national from April 1, 2021 through March 31, 2022 in the box titled “people active on the waitlist.” You can change the dates and the number will change. You can click on a state in the map and the number in the box will show the number for that state.
Note: You can be on the waiting list but inactive for a number of reasons such as a new lab test is required, or an appointment was missed. Check with your transplant coordinator to be sure your status is active. If it is not, ask your coordinator what you need to do to be set back to active.
Percent of Living Donors: Click on the grey box titled “of kidneys donated by a living person.” As with the kidneys transplanted, when you first load the dashboard the percent of living donors shown is national from April 1, 2021 through March 31, 2022 in the box titled “of kidneys donated by a living person.” You can change the dates and the number will change. You can click on a state in the map and the number in the box will show the number for that state. You can also hover over a state to see a pop up showing the number for that state. Click the state again to reset the box’s number to national.
Did you know?: There is a box to the right of the map that will give three fun facts that correlates with each of the grey boxes at the top of the dashboard. When one box is selected you can read the first fact then click the double arrow about the did you know box to load the next fact.
Kidneys transplanted trend: Just below the :Did You Know” box there is a graph that shows the trend of kidneys transplanted based on the date range in the date range selection box at the top of the dashboard. When you click on a state the graph with show the trend for that state. Click on the state again to reset the trend graph to national.
Testimonials: Feel free to click the double arrows above the testimonials box below the map to read the thoughts of people who donated a kidney or received the gift of life through organ donation.
Find a Transplant Center: There are two ways to look up a transplant center on this dashboard. There is a box in the upper right that will take you directly to a national directory of transplant centers. (You can also click on a state, then click the text link in the pop-up box to find centers serving that state.) This list provides the following information:
OPO Name (Organ Procurement Organization) This is the OPO that serves a specific region.
City The city in which the transplant center is located.
Transplant Center Name The hospital name (also referred to as a transplant center).
OTC (Organ Transplant Center) Service List The specific organs in which the transplant center offers.
Number of Kidneys Transplanted in 2021 The latest data for kidney transplants at that center.
OTC Contact information Click the double arrows at the end of a row for a transplant center to find their contact information and/or visit their website.
