Dr. Hanudel was born and raised in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. He completed his undergraduate studies at Yale University in 2003, earning a degree in Molecular, Cellular, & Developmental Biology. He received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 2008. Dr. Hanudel then came to UCLA, where he completed his pediatric residency, completed his pediatric nephrology fellowship, and earned a Master of Science in Clinical Research degree. He joined the UCLA Department of Pediatrics faculty in 2016.
Dr. Hanudel is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology. He cares for patients with chronic kidney disease, including those on dialysis and with kidney transplants. He attends on the inpatient pediatric wards at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital and at UCLA Medical Center Santa Monica. He provides outpatient clinical care at the DaVita Century City dialysis center and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Hanudel’s research interests focus on the interrelated complications of chronic kidney disease, including anemia, iron dysregulation, and disordered bone and mineral metabolism.
