Dr. Shuvo Roy is an Engineer who works at the University of California San Francisco. His life mission, and the goal of the Kidney Project is to create a surgically-implanted, independently operational “bio”-artificial kidney to treat kidney failure. He talks with Lori about his grand vision of designing an implantable kidney, the timeline for clinical trials, and what he has learned so far.
