Lori Hartwell, RSN’s founder and president, spent her teenage years on dialysis and underwent two unsuccessful transplants and has hosted this event for 25 years. Living with kidney disease during youth presents its own unique challenges, and this special occasion offers an opportunity to unite, celebrate, forge new connections, and enjoy an unforgettable evening. Many have missed this pivotal coming-of-age experience, and connecting with others who understand your journey can make a significant difference. This celebration of life is the longest running gathering of its kind.

The event will take place in a stunning venue, featuring entertainment, delicious renal-friendly cuisine, and special celebrity appearances. Dresses are offered to the girls at no charge, We create a night they will never forget. Let’s come together to support our youth and young adults in a fun and meaningful way. 

Past Prom Party guests featured above are Joey and Vinnie, who met at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles and have been attending the prom for many years. Jasmine & Reyna who met at a previous Renal Prom Party and have been best friends ever since. Natalie, Michael and Mihi who all started attending the prom as youths and now attend as adult ambassadors. You can read more about each them and others here.

In 2024, we extended an invitation to past prom attendees over the age of 24 to join us as ambassadors. Through their presence and meaningful interactions, these ambassadors inspire younger guests by demonstrating that a bright future filled with career aspirations, family, and more is within their reach.
